Welcome to “Real Stay at Home Business”! I’m glad you’re here!
Very Busy Mom
I live in Arizona, a place with lots of sunshine, dust, and open spaces.
My husband and I have four kids whom we have always homeschooled.
Over the years, we have also had innumerable animals. (I lost count somewhere around 70 or 80.) Right now, it’s two formerly wild mustangs, one super-lovable burro, fifteen chickens, three ducks, three dogs, and two cats.
That’s Part of Who I Am
If you’re a mom, you can probably relate to the fact that it’s sometimes hard to tell people who you are, without telling them about your children. The needs and interests of your kids occupy so much of your life that it becomes a big part of who you are.
It’s fascinating to me to see the interests of our children develop.
Our middle daughter has loved horses since she was about two years old. She started raising goats at the age of ten, partly because they’re so cute, and partly to earn money to get a horse. She did! So six years later, she had not only sold the goats, and begun to really blossom as a horse trainer, but also started working with a local veterinarian.
One daughter produced a movie, with the help of eight other families, and put it on YouTube when she was eleven years old.
Interests of the other kids include writing, music, and coin collecting. All the kids have participated in the Bible Bee, and have grown in many ways through that.
Earning Money from Home
Being a stay-at-home mom, I have done different types of work at home to bring in extra income.
I wrote a book for a home school curriculum company, and did some editing for them. Besides being a help financially, this served to spark a particular interest in our young son which has continued over the last sixteen years.
I have taught piano lessons, done tutoring, made soap, sold cookware, and sold stuff on eBay.
In many cases, my kids have worked with me in these endeavors, whether it be entertaining a young child while his sibling was being tutored, collaborating on the soap-making, or washing dishes while I did a cookware demonstration.
I have learned a lot about different ways to earn money at home. There are some things I would recommend. Some I definitely would not.
Why This Website?
Knowing how hard it has been for me to balance home schooling, overseeing the kids’ projects, helping my husband, taking care of the house, and earning money, I want to be able to help other moms in a similar situation.
If you want to work at home, you need to find something that fits you, fits your family, and brings in income.
I hope to bring information to you that will help you in making a decision that is right for YOU.
All the best,
